Hi folks,

I've been lurking on the forum for a while since I started searching for a Cordia. After looking at some basket cases I stumbled across one that was both close to home and good condition for its age. I popped around to take a look and found an original looking AC GSR with faded paint and bits of rust here and there. The Cordia had been sitting in a back yard under a pine tree since 2006 and the current owner didn't know why it wasn't running. I haggled on a price and picked it up the following weekend.

With help from my brother we got it home, I bought a new battery put some fuel in it and it started after a few attempts. It struggled to idle and I thought it had a cracked head with a lot of white smoke/vapour!!

I contacted Bitza and he was kind enough to help figure out what the initial problem was...turns out it had AB injectors, AC AFM and a cracked ECU. Now I'm hunting down some AC injectors to get the fuel issue sorted out..

Nice base, it looks like it has no dints!

Will be an awesome little project car.

Cheers, the bodies fairly straight but both the doors are rusted out at the bottom.

Its fairly original apart from the wheels and the tinkering with the ECU and injectors.

My car is now running and the injectors have seated themselves so no more leaks!! Bitza has spent a fair amount of time on the car and its starting to come along nicely. Now to sort out the sensors

Just a pic of preping the spare door/s ready for delivery. Thanks Grant.

Image

This one has a small dent in it bit is in mint condition..........plus the original "defect" from factory (just under the style line 1/4 way on the bottom of the door, Bitza had it also)...........all drivers side doors I have seen have them, looks like a "pressing" issue.

I tried to take a photo but didn't work out..........it's under the body side molding on the style line just to the right of the door lock.

I've always wanted an original cordia, mainly for when I enter shows.........put both of them next to one another to show the difference between stock and modified.

I still have the starlet, will become one of my daughters car one of these days..........plus I just built a new enclosed veranda on the side of the house.........that way I have somewhere now to work on the AC.

The engine is compression healthy, and to keep it original I won't be changing it.
