Mallala Driver Training Day - Friday 7th October 2005.

Attached are the Entry Form and Supp’ Regs’ for this event.

Those returned their completed entries by Friday 30 September 2005 will be given first priority. Please refer to the conditions on the entry form.

You must be a member of a CAMS club to participate. you can join MGEC for only $20. Entry for the day is $70. Spectator FREE.

If you don't want to participate, we would love your help at officiating the event also. Even if it's only a few hours.

The event is basically more training focused than racing focused. It is very different to our last track day where you get to do lap after lap. This is where you are training to control your car, tackle a corner at a time and if time permits, you get do to a few full laps at the end of the day.

8am gates open & scrutineering.
9am intro & theory talk
9.30am
Southern hairpin - braking/cornering
Northern end back straight - Do a slalom run
Straight / Esses - Lane change / cornering - Swirve & miss
12noon lunch
1pm braking and G-tech runs
2pm afternoon tea
2.30pm full laps
4pm ends.

There will be 2S licensed officials who will be passengers in the cars in the afternoon session of full laps around the track.

It is aimed more at defensive training, no it won't be counted towards insurance premium reduction.

The format of the day is the morning session will consist of the participants being divided into three groups of 10. There are three activities on the track, each group will cycle through the activity & move on to the next one, so there shouldn't be much waiting around. During the lunch period two officials will demonstrate the 2-second rule on the start-finish straight into turn 1.

After lunch there will be a swerve & recover manouvre onto the gravel & back onto the track. At the same time there will be 0-100km/h acceleration runs on the start-finish straight with the club G-Tech meter.

So if you are interested, you better be quick. Please post up here that you are attending so we can keep a tally and ensure first in best dressed. only 7 places left. Download the form and send it in!!!
