and didnt sum1 mention that a bonnet scoop into the engine bay's bad, cause it de-pressurises something???
A bonnet scoop without a top mount intercooler is a bad idea because it will slow down the air flow through your radiator/front mount intercooler/oil cooler/ac condensor.
The theory is that in front of the radiator etc is a very high pressure area because of all the air slamming into it. Behind it inside the engine bay is a much lower pressure area because the air is being sucked out from under the engine and from the back of the bonnet. This large pressure differential forces the air to flow through the radiator etc, rather then around it which it would much rather do because it is far easier.
When you go putting a bonnet scoop on your car it's forcing air into the top of the engine bay, increasing the pressure. This lowers the pressure differential between the front of the car and the engine bay, and makes it harder for the air to flow through the radiator etc because it is now even easier for it to go around rather then through.
So, if you really must have a bonnet scoop without a top mount intercooler either have it facing backwards or don't go cutting a hole in your bonnet, just mount it on top. Sure having a bonnet scoop that dosen't go anywhere is ricer styles, but so is having one that dosen't have a top mount under it.
