also i'm sick of being stuck behind tossers in the middle of the day, like last time....so lets make it a midnight cruize, or atleast late night to avoid traffic and shit like that

if we can get it on a warm or not wet night, that would be awsome....

well it's a nice idea in theory, but its my belief that unfortunately the chances of your car being dragged over the hot coals by the cops are far higher on a friday night. it's a catch 22 situation unfortunately. :(

actually come to think of it, you weren't stuck behind the tossers on the last cruise, i was!

i say meet at some where central, i dont mind castle plaza, but thats a 30 min drive for me atleast. i dont like a friday night, way to many cops, who slap stickers on ya car if it looks good. saturday is usually a bit more relaxed but they are still there. i can only get done for exhaust at the moment. how bout where we met last time? but theis time have it on a saturday night or sunday arvo. if its a sunday arvo, we can have lunch and chill. if its a saturday night we are gonna have to keep our eyes peeled and try not to get split up and lights etc which is very possible to happen.

my mate got done for not havig one of the small as "caution hot" stickers in his engine bay...

i should hope they dont start puttin traffic lights through the hills......

lol

funny you say that a109, the 26th is not good for me; it clashes with the bay to birdwood run which i'm indirectly involved with. :(

how 'bout the week after?

Okay Steve, the week after that then :D

As long as everyone can be there then 3rd of Oct is fine :P

Also Steve, the TC05 tops at 120Kw ATW in a 2 Litre RWD, which should be about 110ATW in a 1.8L FWD, standard TC06 is good for about 140ATW but it doesn't hit full boost till about 4-4.5K. Hi-flow TC06 is about right for 200Atw. Also the reason why people don't get so high is because the camshaft in either SOHC or DOHC must be replaced by around 150Atw to take advantage of a high-flowed TC06 or anything better. Also when it's run on the dyno, log the AFM as it's starts to restrict power once pushing the 150 mark. So it's definately your Intercooler and subsequent piping for now :( $700 or so on a full new set-up isn't something you decide in a split second.......let me know if you need more details, I can put you in contact with atleast 2-3 people who have experience with the TC05s'.

Enjoy :)

the jury's still out on the turbo/intercooler power restrictions, luis. i have power readouts before & after the cooler install and it makes roughly the same power and it runs about the same boost. so from these observations, even though the cooler isnt helping the power output, its not really hindering/restricting it either. who are the people you speak of that have had some success with the TC05's? what have they done?

in the end though, if i can find a suitable TD04/TD05 upgrade i'll leave it as is.

if you want you can take a look at the setup 1st hand on the next cruise. :)

Can you post both dyno sheets up ? or pm me for email if you want....

What was the air temp both days ? Run on exactly same dyno ? With same tyres ? How much time between between both days ? Did you replace the oil/spark plugs or anything else after the first dyno but before the second ? That's all I can think of which could affect readings between both days...

You can generally tell if top-end is being held back and from what....the set-up you have is fine, I just don't beleive that intercooler is very efficient because TC05s' pump out considerable hot air around 12psi so there should be a very noticable power increase by intercooling it.....

Get me the dyno graphs and I'll see if I can eliminate either the intercooler or turbo as the issue for you.

geez, everyone's birthday's around now..... i have mine this wednesday aswell! lol....

and yeah i should be fine for the 3rd of oct. only thing to remember is this is a long weekend, so prehaps some of you may have plans for this weekend. the holiday is on the monday, so roads should be more empty on the sunday than other days. :D

so, where does everyone want to head off to for this one? any ideas?

luis - i'll bring along dyno sheets etc on the cruise so you can take a squiz at 'em. any questions just throw me a PM.

semireal - how's the americas going? i have relatives heading to that part of the world very soon, any touristy places recommended to visit??

No worries Steve...are we going to meet at the same place ?

Also, everyone might want to do a general inspection of their vehicles beforehand since we are cruising around town and will more than likely have our cars checked by the blue color authorities
