I think we can safely upgrade the status of this cruise and officially rename it CORDIA MEET 8

sounds good guys & girlz. keep ideas coming. once a location is decided we can plot a "course" and work out a rough schedule. Treasure hunt sounds like a good idea. Orienteering in a car is also fun. Problem is, people will speed (including me!), a minimum time is a good idea to keep it responsible. Either that or use unsealed roads maybe?

Ideas were suggested in the other thread to try and involve some other forums/clubs. I'll leave it up to you guys to get some outside interest happening coz i don't post on those forums.

Yeah the grampians/hallsgap cruise would be great, long flowing drive but if it goes through ballarat, alot of cordia's would merge into the pack from there and also hamilton etc

Also how about wilsons promontory, nothing beats that place its kinda close but also really picturesque

Ok, i've added a poll so we can decide

I'm also suggesting Sunday 25th July 2004 as a tentative date. This gives people a fair bit of notice.

When a location is agreed, we should photocopy maps of the area and "rally" points and times. This is probably a good idea as most people won't be familiar with the area.

This really sucks the big one, i have had my licence now for 2 months and i had to stop driving today again for another 3 months and now you want to have a cruise, Oz and i were trying to get one going agaes ago in the CON thread but it never happened as everyone just waits for someone else to plan it.

If i can get a lift i will be in for sure but i wish i could be driving too.

I think i will have to start to organise one for the end of the year as that way i will be able to drive then atleast. October sort of time.

I personaly think that if it is going to be a treasure criuse that it should be out in the bush and not near the water as it will be alot colder out towards the oceans/bays then it would be in the country.

i also think that maybe push the date back a little bit further so that there is a bit more time to get ppl to realise thats its going to happen.

Steve

Good idea, I remember two things that Steve told me when I was organising CM7...
1. I liek teh SHAFT PLAY - hehe dirrrty, lol.
2. Always give a couple of months when organising a big cruise as people need to get their cars ready, get licences back etc.

P.S. j/k Steve doesnt really like playing with shafts

See my problem is even if we do wait for a while im still probs not goin to be able to drive as i have only just yesterday lost my licence and still have another 3 months left.

If it does go ahead i would jump at the chance to get a lift and if i could get one from you Merlin that would be good seeing that you only live bout 10 minutes from me

Thanks for the offer

Steve

I vote for the hills - it would've been Great Ocean Rd, but we just came back along it after spending a few days at Post Fairy and there are simply too many incompetent drivers meandering along it to make a cruise enjoyable!

September probably would be a better time and I agree that it will leave more time for organising. Hopefully more people will turn up as a result, too.
