Just been to lakeside raceway, which is now open again for
club motorsport. This was the first round of sprints organised
by AASA and was open to any road registered or registerable
cars. There was a variety of cars running , skylines , wrx ,

xr6 turb , gsr galant { now a write off }, mustangs, corollas,
commodors etc and a mate of mine in a vw caddy van. [ which was
slow but was a good laugh]

Cars went out in lots of 5 and were time for 5 laps at atime you
race agaist the clock and cars were far enough apart not to cause
accidents with oneanother .
I hav'nt raced there since 1990 when i had a improved production
race car [ 2ltr escort].
Iam looking at entering the next one on the 10 august in the cordia
and would be good to see some others out there.
Its $99 to enter plus $20 for a licence for the day and just need a
crash helmet and wrist to ankle clothing.
Heres the link for anyone interested http://www.queenslandraceway.com.au/lakeside_sprints/index.html
Its great day out :D also its free to go and watch

Good to see the place up and running again!

I remember seeing all the race cars being trailered past my parent's house on race days when I was a lot younger. The track is not far at all from my old place and I used to love going there...

The place hasn't changed, but is going to be resurfaced and new
amenities built at xmas i believe .
The track has been or is about to be heritage listed , so
it should be around for a long time to come.
