Hey guys,

I'm trying to stick small rubber extrusion around the edges of the luge pan and it's proving difficult. I tried Bostik multi bond but it just peels away, doesn't stick at all.

Contact bond is no good because the extrusion is small so it closes on itself - there's not much oxygen exposure so the contact bond in the extrusion won't dry.

It needs to be a quick bond as this stuff is pretty much impossible to clamp.

What would you recommend?

For race car; we use rubber edging... that works sweet.

bonding plastics to metal; i'd be looking at an epoxy... dunno if it's overkill but, as sounds like you're just trying to pur a rubber edging on something.

edit: from what pic looks like in other thread; i'd be looking for this rubber edging stuff we got. I'll find out where we source it from tomorrow if i remember :P

That's ok. I went to an upholsterer today and got some snap trim, the stuff with the little metal bits in it that has the rubber ridges on the inside. Stuck like crazy, no way that's coming off.

I was going to suggest that you find another option rather that opt for an adhesive. Adhesives struggle to bond porous surfaces to non-porous surfaces, especially when air flow or oxygen is limited.
