in the mid to late 90s we have had vr gtss hsv galor new monaros ssvs and more what did you have =

now and only now you have the turbos fpvs gts and gtps and i tell you what i drive everyone of those everyday and i still think and know they suck hard core balls

ford basses there power on illusions 290kws yeah right and it carnt smoke them into 3rd when being flat shifted

my vr4 would distroy all the new turbo fords and the v8s to0

and as for the turbos they are weak i mean sure they boost up early give you i nice little kik in the neck but thats it and they make you think fuk i must be flyi ng i have redlined this thing the last 3gears but no you are still only just breaking the law weak i tell you week \\\


mind you a guy at work does have a actully dyno proven 350rwkw xr6t but that thing is light years from standard and has (including the price it was bought for) had spent on it about 100g and it does pull a mid to high 10 but still i have spent about 20g on my vr4 including buying it and it is only 1 secpnd slower you do the math pushrod boy lol

FPV f6 typhoon AUTO runs flat 13's out the box, ignore what some mags say
in the 90's we had the EB and EL GT's
80's there were esp's and clevelands
everyone agrees the AU xr's handle way better than the holdens
We had the tickford TE-50 and the TS-50 5.6 stroked windsor
ford brakes are better than holdens on new cars
nizpro has a 1000hp + xr-6 turbo

as for VL's they are overrated yes i have drivent hem they are cheap fun thats about it to me, i seen one hit a corner hard they have so much body flex the front and rear windscreen cracked

the lack of smoking up with flatshifting into third is probally to do with the ECU not the engine, most new cars have fun cutters

i love my EB XR-6, it handles great, wicked control, sick brakes, i recon it looks tough. i have driven a fair few holdens and i hate they way they handle etc. it may not be quick off the line cos of the auto it has at the moment cos 1st runs to 70 - 80 but when its moving its a different story

what about in group E racing, how much did the EB's pwn the commo's

i know 2 guys with new HSV's (maloo's) the engine in 1 started drinking oil at 5000 km's the diff blew the fark out of the other one at 9000'km's

not everything is about quater mile times, handling is good

the xr-6's are designed for midrange toruqe which may not be fully sick for quater times but it is good for driveability

but each to their own

by the way my ford has overhead cam so does my cordia and my bike has DOHC and ther other is 2 stroke so no cams, no pushrods here mate

i can tell you now they dont do 13 out of the box for a start

yes they have sick bracks but on the gtps if you treat them well you will get 20thous out of your pads which will cos you over a grand to get replaced if you do the work and you can throw the discs out at 35thous
the 5.4 boss eng are natorious for throwing piustons out of the block i have seen about 4 that have done it and every second xr6 and xr6t have fudged diffs and need replaceing at low kms
i have driven the xr6 you talk of it was in the workshop last week and it does not run that power it HAS run over 1000hp at the engine but when they tryed to run it to drive it every time they did something went snap as you would belive lol so now it runs about 350rwkw they also have a territory with xr6t running gear that runns flat 11s not bad for a famly mover lol
i suppose it all comes down to personal likes as i think the commos are a much sporty more riged feel to them and they always have

be realistic if you think a vl stocky has body roll loook at the famos ea s lol

the esps had nothing on the walkys and the aeros by the way none of the fords did only now they are clawing back but i have herd that holden are comming to the party with a turbz or 2

anyway as you said each to there own

we can both come up with stories about new commo's and falcons blowing up. BUT i am yet to be reccomended a commodore by the 5 garages i asked when lookign for a new (second hand) car. no they were not ford dealerships some commo's especially the VS series look very nice ill admit that.
