I think they active yaw control which is I think what you're referring to. According to the literature it's to reduce oversteer which raises my eyebrows because AWD cars tend to suffer more from understeer than anything.

couldn't really tell how the diff & awd was without taking out on a track and thrashing it (I was kinda limited with the owner in the car while I was driving it). I actually think I need to do that before making a decision, I might sign up on the vr4 forum and see what owners have to say.
