hey guys,

have got my BOV all ready to go. but im trying to decide whether i should get it fitted to the standard crossover pipe or whether i should just get a 2.5" or 3" pipe to replace the standard crossover pipe and weld it to that.

i will be doing my intercooler piping within the next month or so anyway, so that idea i thought would be best.

would it be alot of trouble to get a 3" pipe to fit the cordia??? i know that intercooler piping is fudging expensive so if i have to get it custom made then i guess ill have to. dont want to waste my money getting it fitted onto the standard x-over when i can get it on the new pipe.

cheers.

If you have a standard cordia motor i dont think youll get 3" piping over the rocker cover without the bonnet hitting it. Theres not much room at all. I think 2.5" would be the biggest ide say. And keep your BOV aside till you get your intercooler and piping setup and just get whoevers doing the piping to attach the BOV then.

Thats my suggestion anyway

The welding of the attachment and where to put it is easy... i just suggest keeping the BOV aside till you set the cooler and piping up and do it all at once. And i can tell you now it will bealot easier to weld a BOV attachment to your new cooler piping than the stock cross over pipe cause they are odly shaped and very thin. Will look alot neater on custom piping too.
But if you are desperate to do it now this is a common way. mine was just on the opposite side on my first cordia.

not sure if the link will work

 Nice big arse bong mate.

I had a turbosmart type 2 on my old stock Ab and it was F#%king loud at 12 p.s.i and you could hear it pretty clear even changing at 2-2500rpm so yours should be pretty loud too i guess. I did find that my first cordias bov was pretty quiet like what your describing and the only difference between it and my second cordia was it was t-pieced into on of the 3 vacume sources on back of throttle body where as the loud one was connected to a single 6mm id hose to below those 3 vacume hoses tpo its own source so im guessing thats what may have made the difference. Try it anyway.
Havent seen a bov like yours before by the way

the 3 at the back, 2 are 'x-over' and 1 is 'vaccum'

you want the one on the drivers side.

ooook. anyone got a pic of this??? knowing me ill cut the wrong one and the whole car will blow :P

yeah bong is pretty large a. didnt even realise it was in the pic until i posted on here.

one of the reasons why the BOV doesnt seem so loud is because of the disconnect dump-pipe. once that is fixed the engine will be alot quieter so that i can hear the BOV all the time.

what lenght of time do your BOV's release pressure for????? mine is about 2 seconds. would love it to be longer and louder. thats why i wanna know where that pipe is :)

look under te 3 lines. About 8cm below that. Theres a bolt, 12mm. Undo that, go buy a barb to suit and run it from there

also a good place to run a aftermarket boost guage (its where I run it)

might be a silly question but are you trying to get your bov to make noise on rev's in neutral? Mine takes full throttle to almost readline in neutral to go off. When im driving it it makes noise as soon as i get spool and back off. Type two vee port, very very loud even louder now im 12psi and for about 2 seconds. No mistaking it either, you could have a construction sight a metre away and you will still hear it.

^^ like he said^^

Thats where my bov was hooked up to and worked great.
Dont bother with the 3 little hoses behind intake manifold. But easiest way to find the right one is start the car and pull then off one by one. when your car starts to splutter and carry on youll know you got the right one lol.

also, you will feel a suction....

but yeh, use that bolt with the barb. The barb costs like $2, and you have a dedicated line for BOV

just bring the bolt into your local repco/supercheap/autopro

haha na man not in neutral. the BOV is loud but would be louder when exhaust is fixed. its loud as especially when it hits 20psi. and could you please explain to me what a "barb" is. never heard of it. i sound like a complete idiot by asking that but i would look like more of a complete idiot if i walked into Repco and said "one barb please", they would say "whats a barb" and i wouldnt have a clue lol.

Please tell me your not running 20p.s.i without a cooler? If you are... your car is a rolling time bomb.
