ok.. i can get a VR4 motor for a good price with auto box and computer etc.. can i use the auto computer with my manual box? if not, why not? and does a manual computer plug into the auto loom? what other mods or costs will i run into when installing this motor into my cordz?

the auto vr4 will have a td04 turbo which is rather small for big power
but it will spool up quickly

yep that is true about the tdo4. sometimes u see a VR4 selling for a low price only to find on inspection it has the tdo4 which were standard on the auto models. Have a look anyway u never know what u find on import motors.

ehhh.. no one has answered my question thou. CAN I USE THE AUTO COMPUTER WITH MY MANUAL GEARBOX? am changing turbo to a highflowed TC06 anyways. maybe even a T3/4

Seriously, call Four's n more after 3.30 if your in adelaide or some major vr4 conversion place in your state, you'll get an answer in 2 seconds BUT make sure they are a "major VR4 conversion company" otherwise you'll get alot of "know it all's" making assumptions to get your business and charge you big after they find out......

i've been told i can use it, and others say not to do it. i can get the the whole setup really cheap.. the way i see it, is give it a go, and if it doesn't work then get an aftermarket computer... i don't see why it wouldn't work thou... i know that on the VL commodores all that is different in the manual and auto computer is that the manual runs less timing than the auto... but a VR4 aint exactly a commodore. anyways.. if anyone else has info.. i'd love to here it.

i just sold my manual vr4 ecu and harness to 'WAY" for $150 so you should be able to find one, the auto one may work ?
