i have this weird starting problem that till this day a just havnt been able to get fixed heres the symptoms first thing in the morning the car will start like magic straght away if the car is warmed up and i turn it off and leave it for an hour the car will just keep turning ova for a while and wont start untill i pump the accelerater then itl start but if the car is warm then i turn it off then in a couple of seconds or minutes try and start it itl start fine again its weird that if i pump the accelerator itl start after a bit thats weird for an injected car ive changed the e-1o1 and the tacho moves when i try to start so i think that rules that out i have cut the airbox but that was a long time before the problems started happening it also has a bit of an ideling problem which i think is related if when the car is cold if i pump the accelerator the car will rev then die right down to 400rpms and then very slowly pics up what do u guys think any ideas |

Check the fuel press reg for diaphram leaks, make sure it's working well, check the idle speed control motor....theres a full procedure on adjusting it in some topic somewhere i wrote the peice so search under me maybe... Just a starting point i guess.... when it just turns over and over....do you have to pumped it to get it to run, or over time will it start without it..?? Dylan |

Its an old car with old injectors, sometimes pumping the accelerator will "loosen" the injectors and butterfly, its no biggy, I have to do the same for cold starts. Rob |

Yeh this makes sense, ever since I got my cooler on it takes about 3-4 secconds to turn over, I think it has something to do with the length of the pipe, all the old stale air would still be in the pipes and it takes a while for fresh air to get in. Rob |
