Looking at getting a 2L dash motor. I currently have a 1.8 ab motor....can anyone tell me if the 2L dash motor will bolt straight in( its a 2L dash import motor) is this a dohc or sohc motor??? the guy selling it said it bolts straight in so can anyone tell me what the standard power output is on this engine and what engine it is exactly??

Thanks

the guy selling sent me an e-mail.....the motor is a 2L cyclone sohc with an import vr4 turbo bolted to it......does this sound like a good motor? and would there be a noticable difference in power??? he said it bolts straight on so that answers that part.

Well, the 2L dash engine has 149kw standard if it is the non intercooled version, and the intercooled version has 170kw standard. The turbo upgrade should give you a bit of an upgrade.

Yes it will bolt straight in.

Should be a significant power upgrade from your standard engine, and you might even be taking out GSR lancers ans WRX's especially if you put on a frontmount intercooler.

2.0L sohc bolts straight in. The addition of VR4 turbo is an added bonus. Yes, you will notice a nice increase in power. No, you will not beat WRX's. Even with extra power, traction becomes an issue.

Dude rexies arent that fast. I think you should be expecting to take them on.
Who remembers that CON night ages ago when john (sohc 2ltr multipoint) dragged that WRX (3inch, boost etc) and made him look like he was standing still. That was horn. We got footage of it as well. Pete beating a S14 8)
I got footage of my red cordia (sohc 2ltr, TC05 @ 16psi) beating a stock rex. But we were even off the line, he didnt launch.

Power of 2l motors depends whether they were 12v or 8v. 8v ones had less power. I spoke to the guy as well and he said it was an 8v motor so I think they had bout 125-130Kw about the same as starions

2L 4G63BT Cyclone DASH 12V engine has 205HP (152kW) from the factory. This engine was also intercooled. Ana ftermarket computer is needed to get the most out of it as the factory 8V won't work properly with this engine due to the extra valves.

Yeah make sure you understand, both 8v and 12v (dash) motors "bolt" in, but the dash needs a new computer to run all the valves.

just had to add that i got a 4G63 sohc motor in my car.. std TC06 turbo, i've beaten moded silvia's in it, my mates 2L 180sx, which has fmic, 3'' zorst, and boost. VL turbos, 33 skylines, and heaps of rexs with work dun. all im running is 3'' after the std dump, 12psi boost and huge fmic. all i have to say is, the new modern jap cars arent all that great like there made out to be... and i'm not biased... I also own a 200sx, which flogs the fudge out of my cordia.
