Hi Guys

I'm new here and all the way from SA (South Africa) I Bought a Tredia 1.8 Turbo.

The questions which I have is as follows : Does the dizzy from the 4g54 fit the 4g62t motor?

If not, what needs to be modified? Where can I get the wiring diagrams for the car. Searched the forum but most of the images has been removed.

Reason for asking is the car spilled fuel on the exhaust and caught fire. Now i need to redo the wiring.

The 4g54 will not fit the 62, it's a hall effect dissy where the cordia is a reluctor type, as for wiring diagrams they can be found here:

Is it possible to convert from the reluctor type to a hall type dizzy? Unable to source a dizzy for the car here. Very rare car.

What other Mitsubishi's are available in your country?

You may be able to get something out of a nimbus or another N/A model which has the prefix 4g62.

Whats wrong with the original dizzy?

They can be repaired with aftermarket parts.

Not a lot of Mitsubishi's around here. Mostly 1.4/1.6 n/a tredia's , a few 3rd gen Galants, colt rodeo series. That is what is most common around here.

Dizzy cap melted in the fire. Got a replacement cap but dont know if its damaged internally. Plugs wires got burnt but got new ones. need to disassemble the intake still. Injectors got burnt and need to get replacement injectors.

Post up some pics, that way we can see the devastation and help you out.

The dissy may still be OK, you might just have to replace the pick up unit which is available on ebay new, or from another dissy.

All of the other parts are metal, just need to make sure your vacuum advance still works.

Let us know how you get on.
