Yep, your engine mount has been welded too high........best to cut the mount off again but use a cordia one as it's smaller in diameter and won't force the whole drivetrain to the drivers side. This will drop the engine in the bay by 20mm. :)

Seems to be a common problem. I've got a bulge in my bonnet that i hate, but i have managed to source an engine mount that should fix the problem. I thought i had a spare standard mount that i could modify but couldn't find it. Modified ones are harder to find these days, not too many ex cordia vr4 owners who might have one sitting in their shed come in here very often.

Even the pros have this issue: http://www.cordiapower.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=13209&start=40

Thankyou.
I have found a old thread that a previous member cut the ribs underneath the bonnet itself and it was fine..
I might look into that..
Because its exactly 20mm like you said.

Be careful of cutting the ribs out of the bonnet because it can eventually start to bend in half, I've got a bonnet that's been cut for intercooler piping and that's what's happened. Best that you find/make a proper mount.
Or you can get a clear timing belt cover and cut a hole in the bonnet so daily you can see the condition of your timing belt without having to open the bonnet.

My car above has all the ribs in the way cut out of the bonnet. Still didn't clear enough for the cam cover.

Even with the engine at proper height you still need to cut the bonnet support.............I have had no trouble with mine.
