Hi guys,
After looking around the wreckers (U-Pull-it) I have found a replacement vacc advance unit, as we all know this causes the engine to shoot flames out the exhaust when it's broken............the one I found was from a Mazda 323 and bolts straight on to the cordia dizzy.

The mazda unit has the same throw, but needs to be lightly grinded in order to fit the cordia breaker plate.

I have a problem with an AB GSR, the engine runs without the MAP sensor, with it plugged in it won't run......the ECU error checker says "no error", I'm thinking the vacc unit is the problem.........can anybody help me out?

Yes, I have changed the ECU.

Replace the boost sensor. Clearly its the problem.

In your case, without it connected, the ecu relay, knock sensor, afm are allowing the engine to operate.

I changed the boost sensor and it's clearly NOT the problem, that's why the ECU states "No error".

Is that distributor in the pic off the same car? I don't know if this would have any affect but isn't the plastic canister thing on the vac line in the pic above supposed to be the other way around? With the pink side towards the vac advance unit. Maybe the MAP sensor is getting an incorrect reading and somehow preventing the car from starting? This is just a wild guess but it does indeed sound like a vacuum issue.

The pic is my spare dizzy with the mazda unit fitted........I've been working on cordia's for years and have never encountered this problem.......I've checked and double checked everything, no code error, no vacc leaks.....nothing.

This engine should be blowing black smoke with the MAP sensor is disconnected, but it idles like a dream with no code error!!!!

I'm stumped!!!!

After many hours of "fiddling" and listen to the engine run............turns out one of the leaded fuel injectors only worked some of the time, replaced it with a working one and now the engine runs sweet again.
