so its not the acuator in the vac circle thing thats bolted to the side of the airbox, i clicked it in but nothing. When the car is on i am able to put it into gear without even using the clutch. I turn it off put it into 1st then start it but it wont even jerk forward. Fark cordia Y U NO WORK... What is it! Thrust bearing? Linkages? Also fixed the sputter issue was the wires that connect to the afm, cheers bitza for supplying me a new one brother, good price

how about adding in your first post how it happened, instead of having 2 threads with half of the info in each.... again.....

are you sure its actually going into gear?

I'm also thinking but im not really sure on this so somebody correct me if i'm wrong! But maybe if your clutch is completely fudged there won't be any coupling between the engine and the box.... resulting in your symptoms?

The thrust bearing would only stop you from being able to disengage the clutch. Its either you clutch or pressure plate has had it. Apart from that one of your gear linkages may have fallen off and your not actually putting it into gear.

It could be a number of things, but thats what my money's on - since you have already tried the actuator rod.
Clutches will normally slip before they break, but not impossible for them to just go pop!

the cup must have stayed in the box or else you would have dropped gearbox oil everywhere lol.
That's a bit strange though, how the fudge does a driveshaft pop out like that?

My bet is it has no snap ring.

This also happened to the prevoius owner (James)......he probably didn't re-fill the box.

haha ye ay, so any idea what would make it just pop out randomly?what is snap ring bitza? Hes gonna put it back in top up the box oil but im scared it might just pop out

The snap ring is a circlip on the end if the drive shaft that locks the shaft into the gearbox. If its missing the driveshaft would be only sitting there and could pop out at any time. I didn't think of the driveshaft as normally they would fall partially out and you can hear them grinding against the cogs, or once they are full out they are hitting the ground and easy to see.
