from what i know there is an over drive for every gear, some one please correct me if i am wrong |

Its similar to the later 5 speed boxes, except it has a High or Low range (Economy or Power) lever that is in the cabin which you can use in any gear giving you 8 speeds. The later boxes use the diaphragm on the back of the box so that when you select 5th, the gearbox stays in 4th gear, but switches to high range on the input shaft giving you your 5th gear. |
