If you are removing the crank pulleys there are 4 12mm bolts on the inside of the pulley.

put it in gear and hand brake on or there is a small hole in the wheel arch u put a half inch extension bar through it and into the crank bolt (it has a square hole for half inch) or you can try and get a socket on it or use a spanner

Best advice is to not put it in gear. It may be ok with those 4 small bolts but best to use the wheelarch hole with extension bar when undoing the crank bolt. Either way i wouldn't want to put any unnecessary force through the gearbox, especially static force. Honestly most of the time those 4 12mm bolts just need a tap to loosen them up. Put a normal socket and bar on them and give it a tap with a hammer.

or you can put a 17mm spanner on the camshaft nut and lock it against the waterpump. This will stop the motor from turning but I wouldnt recommend this method for removing the crank nut.
