hey everyone,
have a question regarding the throttle position sensor. Mine seems to have shit itself twice in the last month. Im running a aftermarket ecu etc with 12 pound boost, when hitting about 4 and a half rev's the car backfires and backs off, seems to happen more in higher gears then any other gear. kind of like a jerk and black smoke shoots out, not to mention a LOUD backfire. Its certainly not boost cut or any sort of protection as iv had the laptop hooked up with the tuner going through it. The last time we had this problem the TPS was causing the problems with its mixture as the throttle was stuck open (as if the pedal was all the way down), but i cant imagine that another TPS can wreck so easily after only a week or 2. Now are the TPS obsolete or can i still purchase a brand new one? or even use another tps from another car? want to narrow this problem down asap, dont want to add any unnecessary damage to the beast =P

What aftermarket system are you running?

Might be better running your load points off of MAP and use the throttle position sensor for fuel enrichment only.

hey thanks for quick reply, im running the wolf3d v4 i'm pretty sure costed me 1395 for the unit about 2 months ago. Didnt know that was even possible, if it is i definately need to sus it out. Really should go to the multi point setup but dont want to spend that kind of money at the moment. You wouldnt happen to have a tps laying about by any chance ?
