ok i got a 84 cordia that broke down on the way home after i got it after a while got it running was a stripped timing belt ran well but turbo was rattly at best now it started making a knocking noise so i pulled open the valve cover to see oil aroung the 1-3 rocker and dark oil at that the seal on the visable side is bent all with my turbo i can wiggle it around between where the turbo meets the exhaust mount should this be flush or is there a missing bracket also out of curiosity whats the thing hanging off the exhaust mount its looks as if it is able to spin but just doesnt do any thing.

any help would be very appriciated as i went from commodores as i new how to fix them to the car i always wanted and my knoledge is mild at best

OK.............pic one is the banjo bolt for the main oil feed to the turbo.......it should be tight and NOT leak.

Pic 2..........is one of the oil return holes to the sump...........what is Bent?......do you mean the thrust washer on the rocker?.......that's normal.

Pic three............looks all OK.

That's the crush washer required for tappet alignment.............as for a banjo joint, just use some new copper washers....should fix the problem.

Strange its been removed, im sure someone will have one make a wtb thread with the photo.

as for the washer perhaps the same get one from another dead head/valve train.

make sure u say what type of turbo, im unsure if tc05 06 are the same.

what kit did you use? and how much was it? for the turbo

patience and a manual :)

I would have to go digging but basically you need a 12mm spanner flat head screwdriver and a feeler gauge

need to set the motor at top dead and adjust the ones that are meant to be to the right spec (manual says what ones) and then turn the motor over again and adjust the other half. you must be patient and get the feel right tappets are somewhat of an art :D if its ur first time don't be surprised if you make a mistake
