Following on from Brian with my Cordia, slowly checking everything and replacing anything worn with brand new. The car deserves nothing less.

Currently got the interior completely removed apart from the dash, pulled out all the old foamy sh*t that sat under the carpet. I want to cover the floor completely from front to back with sound deadener to keep out a bit of the drone and protect the carpet a little.

Has anyone done this, if so what exactly did you use? Im looking at 5mm thick, self adhesive tar bottom with top layer of aluminium...seems to me this would be ideal for sound insulation. Anyone used it before? Wont be doing anything else other floor which also happens to be completely rust free, not even a scrap of surface rust! Best condition body ive ever seen!

most of the engine sound comes through the firewall from what i have noticed aswell as through the rear of the vehicle being a hatch back covering the floor with tar based deadining would only add WEIGHT to the vehicle with little noise reduction in order to cut noise you would have to do right up behind dash against firewall and inside doors and rear quarters and boot imho

that jaycar response is pretty cheap and comes in a few different flavors. I used that and the Dynamat Ultralight on my Subaru and both worked well.
