Post subject:  Idle control valve

Hi all does anyone know a way of backing the idle control stepper back of ?
The one on the underside of the throttle body as i can't get my car to idle under 1300rpm and have been told that the stepper motor was probably engaged when it was disconnected and as my EMS doesn't connect to this module it is just sitting to high even with the idle screw fully screwed in.
Any help or Ideas would be appreciated
Thanks

Here is the process for the idle air valve:

or you can make a blanking plate to remove it altogether:

Hope this helps.

I'll have a fiddle but looks extremly helpfull thanks a heap for that.
What happens if i remove it all together will all adjustment just work for the idle screw then ?
Or will it just be harder to idle when cold ?

If you remove it completely it will idle "low" when cold, but can be adjusted to idle properly when hot.............I actually used an EL falcon throttle body that uses a solenoid and can be driven by most aftermarket computers rather than a stepper motor to bleed when cold.......and yes it fits the VR4 manifold.

Here's a pic:

Grab a 6 cylinder one...........you will need to modify the throttle linkage to cable control..........I've seen some Falcons with the same throttle setup as mitsi but not sure what model.

I did have...........but thrown it away.............best to get one from a wreck.........you will still need to modify where the cable sits on the throttle pedal though.........it's an easy mod.......just need to cut off some of the plastic retainers.

Yep, Galant or Lancer.........ask Travis (S1VART) as he works at mitsi, might be able to get you one, or at least a part number.
