hey peeps, just bought some ac turbo front discs from eBay, now im curious to know how much work is involved in changing them over, will the ab calipers fit or must they be changed? also would it be better changing the front wheel bearings since i have to pop them open when taking off the brake assembly?

From upgrading from AB to AC slotted rotors how much improvement should i get out of them?

cheers,

hey man

what sort of cost effective way are you looking at going? if its a cheap conversion your looking into without a whole lot of coin..

there isn't alot with what you've purchased, its all bolt on pretty much. but that means hub/caliper swap over, so it needs to be AC. you can use the master/booster. ideally you would change the bearings

what i would have done was bought some magna/galant hubs - you would have benefited from the fact that the disc rotors just pull away from the hub, larger diameter rotors and larger piston calipers, then benefited from upgrading the booster. good news is most of this stuff would not cost more than $100 from the wreckers - you just need to spend the money on recoing the product

theres still a lot of posts floating about this place with some good info

its abit better as they are larger , you should have had alook at my setup , Ive got VR4 hubs with 276mm evo 2 rotors and KR XI twin pot calipers

the booster has always been a concern with the cordia as they leak and are very small , Ive got a VR4 booster if your keen, and you can jsut get a VR4 aus spec 1 inch master

Ive gone the TW magna booster as Im going for Brembo conversion later

cheers fellas, interesting ideas, money isn't really an issue Pete but since iv already bought the ac front rotors i might as well use them otherwise feel like i wasted it haha. If i can get away doing it without too much hassle id prefer it as im putting in my aftermarket ecu shortly so i want this out of the way =P

Basically i just want to know what calipers im going to need for these ac rotors and if its still available to purchase or do i HAVE to take it from the wreckers. If upgrading the booster will help more then id definitely be interested Trav :)
