Need to give me a chance mate............the TM - TP were a wide block 2.6.........so NO the narrow block won't bolt up, unless they have the same bellhousing as the TR - TS magna...............just need to clarify this........maybe the design of the TP allows for the drilling to allow fitment of a narrow block.

That's a N/A Nimbus box, looks very similar to the magna........shift rails are in the same position as well as the reverse light switch and mount.............HUMMMM.

Thanks for the photos.

No worries, i was going to look at some of the early hyundai's as well.

the only difference i could see between cordia box and this one was the cable shifters.

yep, if only there were a few more parts around.

Is anyone out there that has a Illustrated Parts Breakdown of cordia gearbox with part numbers?

Just having a look at a website in the states, and that gearbox from the Nimbus was used in several cars including a mirage 1.6 turbo. Meaning it must have a bit of strenght?

They have rebuild kits for these too :D :D :D link below

http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_catalog/manual_transmission_overhaul_kits/mitsubishi_fwd_km_series_4_and_5_speed.html

They also have rebuild kits for a KM163 which was used in there Cordia 1.8 Turbo. Here are some pictures, which illustrate provision for a LSD.

If you ask me, these look very much like the KM164..

The KM206 gearbox was also used in the N/A galants and other models.........must be strong.

The box I have is a KM210 and looks similar.

Actually this couldn't of had a 5th gear vaccum actuator as the KM200 series dont have them.. it was a while ago when i took this photo.

And Bitza, your right. This a KM206, which is also know as a F5M22 which was in the Galants...
The F5M22 also are able to have evo1-3 lsd fitted. There maybe small differences between the Magna box you have temp fitted and the FWD Galant box? This would be a great replacement if it is able to fit as there are quite a few around and you can still get parts.

Very interesting.... We could be onto something here..

Just in case the question comes up.

Galant Gsr diffs run the same bolt array as the cordia. Therefore, they do not except evo123 and vr4 lsd’s (without modification).

I'm putting my money on a KM206 will fit the cordia........the KM210 looks to be too large..........but I haven't seen them side by side yet.

What are you trying to achieve Andre, Stronger gearbox or cable shift?

And how are you trying to achieve it? What’s the criteria? Must if fit with little to no modification or is this not an issue?

Can someone please take a photo and post it up of the cordia box and drivers side rail.

I have a "feeling" the magna box will fit with a little grinding. The only downside is the inner guard under the rail will need to be cut.

As for the cables, the cordia runs "blank plugs" in the firewall, just behind the rear engine mount maybe just a matter of drilling them out.
