Hi,
I know this has been asked before but I cannot find it.
Can someone please let me know the turbo bolt pattern for a cordia/starion manifold?
What turbo size would give me about 8PSI and start pressure at about 2500 rpm on a stock 4G63?
Regards

Thanks for the info, sounds like the go.
I am really new at this game, I have just bought a cordia manifold but am yet to receive it.
I have been looking all through the net for flange details. Is the cordia a T25/28 flange? I see that often in the same line as TD05.
Cheers

Hi,
I have seen kinugawa turbos on ebay and noticed a lot of discussion in the UK and US, some sceptics out there.
Anyone here have an opinion on these. Also, I wrote to another ebayer and he sells chinese turbos. Any comments?
Cheers

its a TD05 flange mitsubishi flange, the garret wont bolt up , unless you buy a addaptor which is easy to get off ebay

Thanks for posting that.
I looked up TD05 and came up with a bolt pattern of 2.25" by 2.92", and I understand that a mitsubishi T25 is the same.
What is the usual waste gate setting on the TD05 13G?
Thanks again.

the T25 is a Garret turbo , might fit the other way for RWD

the TD04 13G is usually around 6-8psi , but it is changeable via a controller ( $35 boost tap off ebay )

as said above, the t25 is a garrett turbo. it uses a different bolt pattern as well as a square inlet.
it may have come on some cars in the US, but as far as i know, MOST aussie mitsu's use a "TC" or "TD" series turbo. similar size models have the same bolt pattern, but entry sizes can vary (easy fix with a die grinder :P).

td05-14b off a galant vr4, tc05 or tc05/06 hybrid. maybe a td04 off a lancer GSR?
i personally would not go any smaller than a td05-14b. (i think too early spool is pointless  )
what turbo is on it now?

if you do want to buy a new turbo then genuine is always the way to go. dear, yes, but mitsu turbos are good quality.
but, if you do want to save some coin i have heard good things about kando dynamic: http://stores.ebay.com.au/kandodynamic
or you could go second hand, and possibly get it rebuilt.

:D

Guys,
Thanks for your comments. I now have the cordia manifold and it is in great condition.
After having a good look at turbo maps and specs, and, taking into account your comments, I am thinking to look for a TD05 14B or G.
I want a smooth transition from to boost from 2000 to 2500 and don't go over 5000 RPM anyway. I guess I will need to get a low pressure wastegate actuator as I need to limit to about 8 PSI. Maybe that is a waste of turbo capacity.
If you think I would be better using TD04 13 then please tell me your opinion.
I suppose I would like to find a usable second hand one to set up and test the system but new is probably the go.

thanks.

if your dead set on early boost, then go for the td04. will definately live up to your spool expectations.

nah, most turbos i have seen have an adjustable actuator rod. if you wind that out you should be able to drop your boost level a bit.
not sure about other td04's, but my lancer gsr runs 11psi stock, so with an adjustable rod you could probably get that down to 8psi

:)

Just an update and thanks for advice.
I have bought a DSM TD05 14B of a 90-94 Eclipse for experimenting with.
Just a few more bits and I will be in a position to install and test.
Regards, Al

Hi, Happy new year guys.
The Eclipse turbo just arrived and will be useful for designing a system and may even work.
There is a crack between the waste gate port and the mounting flange.
Anyway I am getting on with planning the job now.
I just had a go at attatching a photo.
Regards, Al
