just wondering how to adjust camber and toe on my cordia. I have changed to floating hubs at the front and have got some serious negative camber since. The bloke at the tyre joint said i can loosen the 2 bolts that hold the hub to the strut and try push the top of the wheel in then tighten but i dont recall there being any room for movement there? Failing that, he says they can order in some camber-pins for it at about 300 fitted. Is there anything i can do myself? Any tricks to the trade?

Buy some camber bolts off ebay such as these:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Mitsubishi-Galant-HG-VR4-89-92-Camber-adj-bolt-kit-F-/190437183863?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c56f0d177

Then set up your camber by eye and get a wheel alignment.

that looks cool. Could you explain how that works? I only have the mobile version of ebay. My computer is blown. Will that exact one fit my car? As in the 89 magna hub and the 86 cordia strut? If so ill buy one now!

You put it in the top bolt hole of the steering knuckle and turn the bolt one way or the other to get the camber you want.

I won't guarantee it but I think it is the right one as it is to suit a 12mm bolt and all the Mitsubishi ones seem to be the same part number.

Lol, $300. Has it changed your track at all using different hubs?

yep. My track seems to be way wider! It looks like a drag car with wheels that stick out at the front and ones that sit inside the guard at the rear. I think it looks stupid. And the 300 cost is 100 for the pins, 100 to do a wheel alignment plus camber and castor adjustments. Then 100 labour for the lot

What was the offset of the wheel James?

It should be +43.

Doing the magna conversion shouldn't dramatically change the track as the CV's won't locate in the hub if over track.

Which hub to shocker bolts did you use Cordia or Magna?......I can't remember if they are the same thickness.

Anyone lend any weight to the thought that if i loosened my hub mount bolts and put the car on the ground, then tightened i could get more negative camber?

i had a camber problem when i changed to magna hubs too.... but mine was too much +ve camber!

i solved it by getting a set of tein coilovers with adj camber tops (evo 3 i think) and modified them to fit the cordia. I then "massaged" the inside of the gaurd with a hammer and adjusted the camber as negative as i could. fixed my camber problem, handled so much better but aqua planed like a bitch haha.
Cost me a few hundred dollars for a pair of second hand coilovers and a couple hours work to modify them to suit.
:)

just get a die grinder and slot the top holes in the struts where they bolt on to the hub . i put washers on bolts so they would not move under racing conditions and it works fine.
