what about the webers on xe falcons?

Cheap option but I don't know about the availability of parts to tune it to suit a 4g37?
*edit - It seems that jets etc for these are available so it's probably worth more consideration

I wouldnt even bother putting twins on a 4G37, you'd only successfully waste full and make lots of noise. Twin carbs would be good for an engine that was built with potential, unfortunately the 4G37 is the exact opposite!

There is no reason why you can't build a 4g37 with a lot of potential, it's no different from any other engine. And twin carbs look sexy, sound the best and ultimately will make the most power with the right setup.

Single 32/36 downdraft tuned properly is going to give you max gains and still maintain some sort of decent fuel economy. Like I said I got my bought, rebuilt and tuned to perfection for under $500, thats not the worst value for money in my opinion.

You are probably right that this is the best value for money option.

Haha half your luck aye, now seeing as its been sitting there so long he should really be giving it to you for free or a case of beer max! Fit and tune should only be a few hundred, you've got to be cheering!!

When are you going to do it?

mission to be faster then a commodore???????/
i hate to burst ur bubble.....but just webber isnt going to help it beat a commodore,,,,,its going to require extensive head work, cam. and manifolds and 2inch ex sys as a minimum
head ported approx $600
cam approx $300 depending on where from
webber???????/?/// what u can get second hand price???
extractors? cpl of hundred
see if u can find a better aftermarket intake manifold
exhaust? a standard gsr turbo one will do second hand .
then maybe ull have a chance.
it would be cheaper to get a non turbo gallant 4g63 vr4 and run extractors and a gsr exhaust system,,,,good enough for a n/a

Good stuff, when tuned up properly and combined with your exhaust, it should make a nice improvement.

Yeah he isn't going to beat a Commodore just with that, but I get the impression this is all he can afford at the moment. I still really like the idea of a 4g92 Mivec conversion. It would go better than a standard AA/AB Cordia GSR.

yeh im pretty stoked about the webber lucky find.

adn yer dont really have a great deal of cash to throw around at the moment but when i have extra cash i do either put a deposit on a part or order it or something along the lines.

mmm id really like the mivec but ive tried looking around here and no such luck and plus i kinda like the idea of doing an engine up alot of ppl dont just to be a bit different ill see how it goes though nothing stopping me from beating a commo once i get my open licence :P
