can this be done or has any one done it guys
i was told by pete to day that we could fit up the magna geatr shifter with the hydro cable, this would remove the problem's of having a moving gear shfter and all of those problems that we have.
and the shift on a magne is a lot neater and shorted sgould help us all out a bit just wanna know if any one has done it or has any pics of it

Well jayrome wanted to do this to my cordia and he is pretty confident it would work.
I still have the magna gearbox here too, just didn't go ahead with it as I wanted the car back on the road ASAP at the time.

ok then, supose i can only get the parts and give it a try.

so i will need the shifter mounts cables and may be the shift plates then just try and adapt it all to what i need.

No you will need the TM Magna box as well as the cables to make it work.

Your car: MY car? hmmm a black hunk of metal that moves once every year
is the the magna that ran the 4g64? should be easy enough to find. are the input shafts the same as the cord or do you need a new clutch to?

the box on a magna ar a bit bigger, are they not??
i have heard that the rails need to be modded to fit a magna box.

so if the cable set up from a magna will not work, does any one know of any other mods that can be made or cars that the shifter will fit with??
has any one tryed to repair an old shifter??

The TM Magna box is a km164 gearbox like the Cordia one with some minor differences like the gear select mechanism and ratios etc. It even uses the same 5th gear setup. Driveshaft splines/seals and input shaft splines for the clutch should be the same. All the later Magnas use other gearboxes which are larger. The TM Magna was the 1st Magna and only came available with the 4g54 (Astron) engine.

good to know mate so i can only use the tm magan link set up as well then??
is there much diffrence in the gear ratios??
could the gear select mechanism off the km164 be fitted to a cordia box to keep the same gear ratios??

The only difference in ratio is that the Magna has a taller diff. No you couldn't easily fit the Magna selector mechanism to a Cordia box. If you wanted Cordia ratios, you would have to mix and match the internals of the 2 boxes and use a Magna case.
