The above assumes that the auto parts store sold me the correct bearing kit

Has anybody looked at a conversion RATHER than the TN - TP magna rear disc brake to suit the cordia?

on your own so far. what do you have in mind? and how practical is it?

I wonder how possible a 5 stud conversion is, and what brakes you could run then, but then the additional weight might not be worth it, and might well exceed tyre traction.

I am looking to convert the rear to hub............that way I can run a floating disc.........so far I've looked at modifying HG Galant hubs or adding sigma, scorpion or starion front hubs on the rear (need to do some more homework on the stub axle sizes) that way I could run vented rears with scorpion or starion calipers.

Food for thought.

a galant gsr should also work fine..
as for 5 stud TR/TS magna's should be fine to chuck on.. lines should be the only thing that woud require modding..
i was gonna go 5 stud before i got the buddy club p1's..

The main problem is the cordia runs a tapered stub axle, where the magna's, galants and Lancers run a straight axle with a LARGE 32mm locking nut.............may not be that easy as the wheel bearings for the hubs are flat not conical.

We'll see.

Here is what I have in mind:

Firstly, remove the Galant hub bearings to suit the cordia's tapered stub axle and find replacement bearings:

With 276mm discs:

Or replace the whole hub with Sigma/Starion as the stub axles are near identical........and nearly the same offset.

Pic borrowed from Austarion:

Any ideas?

This may not work but...........
have you thought about cutting the disc rotor off the rear magna disc/hub ( on a lathe)
leaving just the hub that you could mount a floating disc on, provided there's enough
clearance to fit the floating disc the only problem will be finding a disc with the correct
offset and that your wheels will be sitting out by the thickness of the new disc.

I think that makes sense :?

Yeah Geoff that makes sense.............there is plenty of room for offset.............just as long as I copy the Galant hub for depth and thickness. :D
