Your car: corida 85 turbo t06.

currently working on installing the intercooler behind the bumper style.

and currently trying to get it going as I think the knock sensor is stuffed as I got a Mighty serge taking the ignition module witch just got replaced.
Ok story is the water pump belt snapped and I had to drive to store to get a new one, put that on no problems. about 30 min later I got a power surge and all the lights on my dash went way bright and the gauges went up and down. and no starting. looked in the engine bay and the fuse box that has the black cover over it had melted quite a bit and found that the ignition fuse had melted the hole terminal and the coil cable that goes into the distributor cap had melted the little metal prong inside the cap.

I have replaced the fuse
I have replaced the distributor cap
i have replaced the knock sensor that blew
i have replaced the ignition module that I got told had blew

and have tried tuning it and timing her i have spark on every lead but no fire.

turning tinto a very expensive problem.

oh please someone do you no of whats going on with this cordia :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

Have you checked for fuel?

You may have burnt out the main control relay (up under the dash behind the glovebox), remove the crossover pipe, disconnect the airflow meter, turn the engine over and check if the injectors are squirting fuel, if not check main relay and fuel pump.

Hope this helps.

fuel pump means you get fuel pressure, still need a pulse to the injectors, after cranking you can usually here them squirt for split second, you will hear like a clicking

oh then yup i have the clicking noises. one when you turn key once, one more when you turn key twice then when shes turning over fuel pump kicks in and when you stop turning the key you can here clicking noises (about 3 or 4 or 5 of them). its a real puzzlement, if the ecu got fried would that stop the car from starting?

Yep.

The fuel pump will run as it's controlled separately from the ECU, but is the ECU injecting fuel, as you didn't state it was?

also check that your fuel is not stale.
undo your fuel line after the fuel filter somewhere and turn the car on so it primes the pump. fuel will start pouring out the line. gather some in a container.

now don't be totally stupid how you do this, but check that it actually ignites. a lighter, match etc. if it don't light up, its stale.
drain your fuel tank, put new fuel in.

the power surge with your lights getting brighter is your alternator regulator. I had a bad one in my old lb lancer. Drove like it for a while but it started blowing headlights. My sealed beams looked like freaken hid's lol. Dash lights got retardedly bright.

When the reg malfunctions you will get overcharging. I was hitting like 16 tio 17v at the battery.
