Hi I have a 4G63 SOHC sirus , what plugs would you use running E85,

its saying B7ES 0.8 but for the 62t

the starion 63t is B7ES 0.8 also

but should I run a hotter plug ??

any info would help

cheers, my last one had a 62T I ran the iridiums, they where great, better responce, better on fuel, Im tempted to get them for this car but dont want to kill them if they dont match the fuel

Agreed, Irridiums are a great plug.

I can quite confidently say that no one here runs E85. Having said that, I can’t see why the leads would be any different.

Not too much aftermarket support for it to be put onto a cordia. Apparently you need to run massive injectors. Like way over 1000cc on multipoint.

Speak to Brisvr4 on Team4g, he drinks E85 with dinner.

I might get both sets to see what feels better, just in standard plugs though for testing

I just talked to a ex fitter of the E85

he said that its just a piggy back ecu with a on off switch, no o'rings or fuel pump upgrades etc,

I thought it might be a big deal to run this stuff, but its sounding easyer to do so,

found out more, it will kill alot of the orings over time, but not for short runs

Im going to 7's, so I might do some tests weekend after next to try it out

I have heard that it goes stale in approx 3 months. Could be a rumour though.

I might just put about 30ltrs through it to see how it goes, I might put a few litres in the pocket bike to ....lol


I just ordered the plugs , I went with BR7EIX iriduims, I get the car back at my house this week to start playing around

no ecu tune, just timing , and I will add a front mount

I just want to get 115wkw,but the more the better the old tune is 110wkw

fairly expensive gamble. E85 will get more power, probably burn colder due to alcohol. Usually you run a colder plug with more power, so I would experiment with BP8ES plugs and BP7ES plugs, see what lasts/see what works best, make sure it doesn't ping.

as far as the fuel goes; yep, ethanol and rubber doesn't mix too well, but that's not a huge deal.

injector sizing; over 1000cc? not necessary unless huge power. Ethanol has a lower specific energy, so you need to burn more of it to get the same power as petrol, hence bigger injectors. Maybe up to 20% larger, which 1000ccc is not.

you might want to up the boost as well. cooler combustion as well as higher octane lessens chances of pinging. maybe up to 15-16psi if you want it to be reliable?
