I went to the local junk yard today and found a 1991 Mitsubishi Galant REAR disk brakes. Its has the 4x114.3 lug pattern. I wanted to check with you guys to see if this would fit my 88 Turbo Cordia. Any links how to convert to this set up aval. to help make life a little bit easer?
Thanks....

not 100% sure on fitment. If it's cheap enuff, get it anyway. You may need to re-flange the steel lines on the cordia to suit, thats about the only mod I can think of. Just take your time and check everything. Main thing is make sure the wheel bearings are the same. You may also need to gring a small join on the trailing arm, you'll see where once calipers are installed.

cheers

Grumbly

Should be sweet.

The Magna rear discs the guys in aussie normally use are the same as the E33A Galant. Same for FWD Sigma too.

Well I guess its back to the drawing board. Spent the whole day at salvage yards and no luck. I guess the Magna/Galant has to be a 80's model because the 90's model would not work. The 91 Galant I found would not work because the hub/brake caliper mount was welded on. I then found a 92 Eagle summit, same as Mitsubishi mirage with a rear disk set up, the hub bolted off and bolted up on the Cordia, but the bearings were 2 big, Since these parts did not work I figured the front wont work either. What year car do I need to get the parts off of? 88,89?? What year Magna's are you guys getting ahold of?
Thanks again .....

You guys wont have any Magnas over in the US. The particular Magna model they are getting their rear discs off are an Australian model only. The '85 til '91 TM/TN/TP Magna was based on the 5th generation FWD Sigma/Galant which was around in Japan (and other countries like New Zealand) from 1983 til 1988. As far as I know, you US guys got a similar model, probably called the Galant - but had the 2.4L 4 cylinder motor, or the 3L V6 motor. The Magna/Sigma/Galant should all have the same rear brake setup. I am about 99% sure the E33A (87 to 92 in Japan, 89 til 93 in the US and aussie) Galant rear is identical to the 5th gen.

I own both an E33A FWD Galant, and a 5th gen FWD "Sigma", and from what I can tell when I worked on both, the whole rear floorplan and suspension is exactly the same.

As for the fronts, the E33A Galant front rotors and calipers should just bolt on. The Australian 'AC' model Cordia had 14" wheels from the factory, and had the same front brake setup as the Magna, which is the same as the FWD Sigma, which is the same for the E33A Galant from '87 til late '89 in Japan, and up to 1990 in other markets.

Well I think Im out of luck. The 1st year for the galant here in USA was 89. Before that we had the Sigma. Looking at the following parts finder I use, Link below. NONE of the Mitsubishi cars with rear disk brakes use the same bearings as the Cordia, so that means we can not do a rear disk brake conversion without cutting the rear spindle off the donor car. This sucks. If one of you can take a look at the link below and double check my work to see If I may have missed something that would be great. I just tried to find a Mitsubishi with rear disk brakes that used the same bearings as the Cordia, but only cars with drum brakes used the same bearings.
