Thanks Bitza.
Didn't get your message till late.
I had left over urethane is the rubber glue used on windscreens ,quarter panel glass
Is also used to glue some car panels like roofs of some cars mig is getting to be old school.
Anyway had some left from doing a job once its open the damn glue dries very fast normally
Put screw on the end in couple days it just dries.
I glue the 2 ends that was torn off I applied very thin layer .
To both ends the thing about urethane is you don't need huge amounts
The original rubber was till there usually sticks well to the left over rubber glue of windscreens.
Having said this im not sure if its going to be strong enough as the original glue is as small as 5cent coin

Managed to put my repaired shifter in and my new console in.
I also had a custom made dash done.

The dash looks good, I did the same thing but molded the boost gauge into the A pillar.

gear change is easy and i get no noise when changing gears.
im very impressed with it.
should last long time :D
had everyone from my work coming around looking around my car.
some said haven't seen a cordia for years .
at least 20 people were impressed .
some asked me if i was selling .
got me 2 new tyres and the mechanic that changed tyres said, he
loves my car but hates Manuel steering  .
he also asked if i want to sell.
