To be honest you won't get alot of induction noise out of these turbo's...........they are just too small..........even with my T35 bolted to my VR4 I heard nothing..........my T72 makes a racket, mainly due to the large compressor housing and large exhaust.........in all if you want to "hear" it boost I would just undo the exhaust.

I knew I'd seen this before.....so I just got hold of Scotts post form CordiaFreaks (as I'm still admin on the site)..........here is the outcome:

Scotts reply:

The AFM was mounted in that metal cylinder, ended up not going with the idea because the air/fuel ratios were all over the place on the gauge I've got in the cabin. Could have been something to do with the size of the cylinder but the only pod size I have is a 6" inlet. Was just something I was trying while I was bored.

Your not going to gain any flutter or suction with a pod over a cut airbox on a near stock car. Plus it's a shit load of mucking around to fit one. Do it properly, aftermarket ecu, map sensor, metal intake to pod without airbox. You could hear my flutter blocks away! every other idea you have come up with is just asking for trouble mate and will cause issues. The Cordia afm is a pain in the arse and there isn't much you can do with it. Best option is to get rid of it.

Or

Cut your airbox which is going to do the same thing as you trying to fit a pod, but takes 5 min and will give you less dramas

Anything else in my opinion is pretty well a waste of time

Does anyone know the legality of cutting the airbox? At the moment I have no cover but in the process of getting one but just wondering if cutting it is still a big no no?

Depends on state regs, but for SA If you are cutting the airbox it can be said that your venting crank gasses to the atmosphere breaching the ADR's which in SA is instant Transport Inspection station defect (not cool). The same goes for BOV's that vent to the atmosphere.
At the end of the day you can have as many mods as you want as long as your not attracting undue attention to yourself. Its easy enough to drive around so your BOV doesnt vent at every gear change and the spool noise is kept to a minimum around town.

For spool sounds get a 16g or similar turbo and MPI conversion and it will spool like a truck..... hisssssssss.

yeah, in VIC i'm pretty sure it is a roadworthy requirement to have your filter fully enclosed - this would mean you can be defected for it. I've never seen it myself, but if the cops want to be picky then they will.
as ssb said, don't attract attention to yourself and you'll be less likely to be pulled up.

In fact, i'm going outside right now to paint my cooler black haha!

The sleeper or "iron fist in a velvet glove" look is the way to go, just dont hiss at little old ladies or police cars and you usually get left alone.

The sleeper look Level : Expert......

Any pics? ssb2005, that is an insane sleeper, i love the hidden role cage!! I always used to love flashy show cars (my old commodore was amazing but far too much attention) but now i'm thinking old school sleeper is defo the way forward!!!

 now THAT'S a sleeper!

i would get some pics, but my phone got broken on the weekend so untill its fixed i don't have a camera lol!
The best way would be to get it anodised i would think - but wouldn't be the cheapest!
I just got some engine enamel from repco in flat black and gave it a quick, light coat. I also painted the visible parts of the silicon hose and clamps. came up far better than I expected lol and is now stealthy as shit behind the lancer gsr bumper!
