Hey Guys,

So the Cordia I have has had a hole cut out of it for the VR4 engine, However i really want to get rid of it, any ideas of a way to cover it? What have you other VR4 drivers done?

Thanks

The main thing to do is remake the engine mount to sit the engine lower..........or.........you can grab some longer bolts and 10 - 20mm plate and place between the engine and mount.........the only problem with doing this is the front timing cover will need a bit shaved off the bottom as the engine is lowered and the mount stays where it is.

The problem is the whole is already there, so not so bothered now lowering the engine, the damage is already done. Thinking more on the lines of covering it up haha

You could find or suitable bonnet vent or have it welded back up with some steel plate with a slight bulge to clear the timing cover.
Although the bonnet vent would largely serve no purpose you may find it's the most aesthetically pleasing fix.

Yeah was thinking a bonnet vent, but the hole is on the curve of the bonnet so not sure how easy it would be. I would love a bonnet bulge but might be expensive?

Alot of us have VR4's added........our bonnets close without the hole..........a little engineering and a new bonnet will see great results. :)

Bitza, So with moving the engine lower is it just the engine mount near the hole or would i have to lower all of them? I would defo prefer to be able to close with no hole :)

You will only need to lower the engine on the passenger side front.........the other mounts can stay as is.
