Anyone who has leaky injectors....

Mitsubishi will tell you the injector seal kit is no longer available, but if you give them the part number then they can actually get them. I ordered mine today, they had one in sydney, this was the last in Australia, but I think they can order more from Japan.

So anyway if you want the kit.....

The part number is
MD608932 "O-Ring Set-Injection"

you have to give them the part number, otherwise they'll tell you they don't make them anymore.

Cost including GST was $61.80 (trade price). I think retail was $80something.

(you can find most of this info searching other threads, but some of them go back to 2004, so i just thought i'd let everyone know, they are still available dispite what they tell you at misubishi....)

O rings, top and bottom seals and a funny lemon shaped seal. I'll take a pic of the kit when i pick it up on monday.

Image

pretty sure it's 24, 23, 21 and 9 on the diagram, but i'll confirm this on monday.

Also getting the injector's cleaned $22 per injector. Probably worth while, my injectors were leaking slightly, also one of the injector's was missing one of the mounting rubbers, which couldn't have been good.

Yes you are correct, its 21,23,24,9 plus number 4. Also it has a extra oring for the fuel inlet pipe. Why i know, is because i have the kit infront of me.

9 pieces

If you really want to save some money, have a look on American ebay, then search starion throttle body, a company will come up that sells hotted up throttle bodies for starion 2.6litre astron engines, but these are exactly the same as cordia throttle bodies. The company is called lower shores performance. Have a look at there website for all the stuff they sell, you will see that they sell the throttle body re seal kits, this includes the injector seals, They used to list them on ebay but now they dont. I bought my reseal kit off them it cost me $20 US and $10 postage i think it was under $40 all up and took 1 week to arrive. I recently installed the kit and it works perfectly. Unlike the mitsubishi injector reseal kit this kit includes every seal and gasket etc in the throttle body and injectors. I only looked at the site last week so they definatley still list them. Have a look, its worth the effort.

i think the two small ones are the seals on the fuel pressure regulator. (5 in the diagram)

correct...
so we have a complete 10 piece set

part no. MD608932

4, 5, 9, 21, 23, 24 in the diagram

10 minutes and fix your leaks completly

and mine were bad, just before i stopped driving it
the top rubbers split and fuel was pissing out everywhere
thank you mister bishi, you rip off bastards
76 bucks for all of 4 grams of rubber
but i think i'll save that in fuel in the first week i'm sure

yeah, it's worthwhile though if you're injectors are leaky

I recommend....
-Injector seal kit ~$65-70
-Get injectors cleaned and tested $44 ($22 per injector)
-Replace engine bay fuel filter $10
-If you can, check fuel pressure

that should ensure your fuel system is pretty much up to scratch.

I am just going through the process of ordering the seals through Lower Shores Performance in the States. It will work out at less than half price than the Mitsubishi seal kit. Am I mad or is the genuine kit in some way superior to the kit from the States.
Cheers
Pete

No Pete you are not mad. The kit off ebay is superior to the genuine
kit because it has more seals and the base gasket too. I got one a
couple of years ago. Also the guy that sells them is honest and a good
guy too.

Thanks for that. The ad on ebay says that if you don't need the throttle shaft seals then the price will be cheaper than $26US. Are these seals of any use on the Cordia?

actually, it's not number 4, it's number 2 which is an o-ring

Number 4 is the "pulsation damper" whatever the fvck that is....

My "Lower Shores" seal kit arrived from the States today. Without installing them I can't say how good they are but the seal kit looks very comprehensive and should work perfectly.
Also a quick word about Lower Shores Performance, the fellow with whom I dealt is simply excellent to deal with and a very good communicator. He happily answered all my questions and the seal kit arived a week after it was ordered. The total price was a little over $40 and I think that this represents value when compared to Mitsubishi kits.
Cheers
Pete

I was talking to the guy (brian) and he was quoting me US$26 for the kit and US$25 for postage. Thats for the seal kit and the throttle shaft seals. (what are the shaft seals and do i / should i replace them at the same time?) With out the shaft seals its $20 + $25

Seal kit

I got the kit without the shaft seals for $20US. Postage can be more expensive but I chose his option of 5-7 days for $13.20 or thereabouts.
The total of $44.00AUD is what it worked out to be.
