I'm not getting the problem. My guess is that it could possibly be a cache/cookie issue on your system.

Is anybody else experiencing the same problem?

I think what he means is that old posts that he hasn't viewed comes up as new posts, yes dave?

As that's what's happening to me... Unless the topic is viewed since last post, it comes up as being unread, whilst before, you didn't need to read everything, you could just close window, re-open and everything would be marked as read/nothing new.

Same issue here. I have to remember to go back to the main page and click 'mark all forums read', if I don't then the ones I didn't read are still unread when I come back. phpBB2 used to show posts since last visit, not posts you haven't opened yet. If you left without opening a post, it'd still show up as read when you came back.

So I guess it must be the way PhpBB 3.0 marks the 'read' status of posts then.

Yeah, I'm not sure if it's intentional or not Kham, it just seems to show you 'unread' whereas phpBB2 showed you 'new since last visit.'

Oh I didn't realise that. It could just be a bug then.

After a little digging, it seems that it's the way phpBB3 is designed to work - it shows 'unread' posts instead of 'new' posts.

You can use the 'View new posts' link at the top right to view all new posts since your last visit, but the forums will show you unread posts instead of new posts.

I actually preferred it the old way :( Oh well.

The new site looks great. i received a PM so i checked it out. the issue i had was the board couldn't transfer the old password or something. no biggie, steps to get it working again were in plain sight.

keep up the good work. congrats on the promotion A.
