the pic in the 'adjusting ISC/TPS' FAQ doesnt work..

i know it's prolly a million years old but i wana set my isc n tps n im havin a little trouble with the faq. is there any chance someone could get a few more pics in there too, that relate to some of the steps??
so i don't know the correct name for all the little bits in and around the engine but i had problems with the wording aswell like: "..and turn the sensor fully clockwise.."- does that mean 360degrees?
is the mixture screw and adjusting screw the same thing?

ok so maybe barely anyone ever uses this probably because they are cordia geniuses but it is supposed to be a FAQ/walkthrough and it's kinda left me wondering how to do the procedure that i just read a step by step guide of..

I agree it is a bit confusing. I havnt set my tps but my car needs it done. I once got told by a mitsubishi mechanic that i shouldnt stuff around with the tps because they can be a bitch to set and sometimes the car wont run the same again. Has anyone had any trouble setting there tps.

Yip agreed.

I was confused about 1. rotating the TPS fully clockwise, when this is not possible as the leg inside the TPS only has about 60 degree movement, and rotating the actual unit will nearly break the wires on it (not that theres any point of rotating it anyway). And 2. the differentiation of the ISC plug and TPS plug in the guide. ie when setting the idle screw, should the ISC plug and/or TPS plugs be both unplugged and/or plugged in??

Could do with some work for noobs like myself :P

I tried turning my idle down over the weekend, was idling around 1000-1100 rpm when warm. Did the TPS thing, turned it down to 850-900 but now its automatically adjusted itself to idle at 1000 again

aesc, is there enough slack in your accelerator cable? I had a similiar problem recentlly which was solved by loosening the accelerator cable.

If someone can find or post a pic of the throttle body (must be high resolution!) I'll mark out everything that needs to be known to set the idle / TPS.

No I have got my accelerator cable quite tight. I assume its just a matter of winding the nuts out on where the cable connects onto the throttle mixer?

Ill take a decent pic tonight and post it up

Yup you just loosen the two 14mm nuts, there should be a bit of flex in the cable.

the pics in my haynes manual are so hard to make anything out in, it's b&w and doesn't even look like my throttle body.
if u poke around and read and re-read and guess and stuff u can get pretty close to knowing what to do, but i'll take some pics when i remember to.

Alright here we go, you'll have to excuse the spastic paint drawing.
http://www.cordiapower.com/forum/viewto ... =5921#5921
I also added a few comments to certain steps that needed clarification.

It might be easier to identify the parts if the camera was closer to level rather than looking down, especially on the TPS side but I know it's kinda hard to fit the camera in without taking out the distributor and half the chassis.

Aesc it looks like your starting to get the leaking injectors/throttle body problem, it might be time to get those seals replaced soon. Also those look like original vacuum lines, they might be worth changing too.

Yeah sorry about the pics but they give a general idea.

Really, you can tell from those pics I'm getting leaking injectors? You have a better eye than I do! Ill look into it, maybe go into Mitsi and get a price for a seal kit. Might also look at replacing the intake manifold gasket too as I'm getting backfiring when decelerating and also hesitation when the engine is cold. As for vac lines, doesnt surprise me they would be the originals

Kinda off topic I've chased up the guy on ebay who sells the injector seal kits for Starions. Is this the correct kit to fit my Cordia?

Cool.

The kit is $25US and shipping is $20US, so about $45US or $75NZ all up. I have been emailing the guy and he has told me that he will ship two kits for the flat shipping rate of $20US, so if you are interested AB I can get two kits shipped over and we can go halves there or there abouts. Be approx $50NZ if you wanted one? If interested send me a PM in the next day or so as Ill be placing my order

I would but the DASH throttle body I use has already had all its o-rings replaced about a year ago. You might be able to find someone else in NZ that needs them, or you could put it up on trademe.
