TCO4 Turbo
1.8L injectors
2 1/4" exhaust cat back

loving the front bar. looks fudging wicked. im not sold on the colour of the car, but apart fromt that, it looks really clean and straight. fudge all GT cordias around mate. hang on to it. your cordia might be one of only a few that rises in resale price.hell! you'd need a turbo just to get up your driveway.

Yeah it's a S13silvia front end. Performance wise it goes pretty hard for a little 1.6 but I have a few quarels with the previous owner who put a 1.5" pipe coming from the turbo and silconed around it and then followed that through nearly to the throttle body then into a enlarger pipe. During acceleration you can feel were the boost stops about 3 pounds but the turbo still keeps spooling from there but due to the small outlet and going from real small to large pipes the plenum only gets about 3 pounds. so next on the list of to do's is new piping and intercooler. :D then should be a real rocket.

I really doubt that is what would cause it to run 3psi. I think you've got much bigger problems.

Thanx heaps for the positive commnets!!! :) Would like to do a heap of things to it but I gotta finish my car as well. I drive a TT 300zx; I got the cordia for my brother... as of yet not old enough for his licsense so for the moment I will drive it round and fix the things needed fixing on it then its all his.

Also found out today car is boosting correctly its just that it is such a small turbo that it runs out off puff very early. Oh well time for a bigger one!!!!

Cheers Guys

the tc05 is already a poor excuse for a turbo, so a tc04 would have to be pretty small. is it throttle body injection aswell?
although the shitty tc06 isnt much better :?
i love this car.

If it really is a 4G61T, then it will be a DOHC 16 valve running multi point injection.

4G61s should be running TD04 turbos standard.

If it's a 1.6L single overhead cam engine, with a suck through carby turbo setup, then it's a 4G32 engine, not a 4G61.

4G61 come in ONLY DOHC 16 valve, and are found in the '87 til '91 Mirage/Lancer Cyborg GSR Turbos.

If it's the original engine, it definitely isn't a 4G61.

He does say it's EFI, and that it has 1.8L injectors, and that it has a BOV. A suckthrough carby turbo doesn't have any of these.

It's probably still a 4G32, but with ECI turbo much the same as the 1.8L bigger brother. The 4G32 ECI turbo motor was also found in the '83 to '88 Mirage turbos (you guys in australia never got this shape).

Iwas the original owner and its a 1.6 single over head cam 4G61 and was originally out of a colt turbo, it was suck through carby but has had the eci manifold bolted to it, I only recently found this out along with the fact that its only a AA GSR with that engine droped in to it because the owner before had it hanging around in his rusted out colt import, I was extremely pissed off to hear that this was sad truth, but it was a top little car and the exaust shop i took it 2 were the ones that siliconed and boged the pipes after i removed the intercooler b4 i sold it. I also fitted the (2)1.8 injectors and bov when i fitted the front mount, and yes it is a standard s13 silvia bar which was quite easy 2 fit, how u see the car is how it was sold!!!!!!!!!! 8) :)

Mate I can guarantee you it's not a 4G61 at all. 4G61 engines NEVER came in single cam! The 4G61 (and along with the 4G67) were two all new DOHC engines released in 1987.

If it's out of a Colt turbo, which everywhere else in the world has them as Mirage Turbos, it will be a 4G32. As you said, it had suck through carby turbo setup, so definitely 4G32 I'm afraid.

You'll be able to see on the block it says 4G32 just to the right of the number one spark plug, on a little tab where the head meats the block.
