finaly got it running with the E101 fitted tonight (Thanks again for that Andrew) found it wasnt working coz of a split earth wire sumone has played with when fitting the bosh module on there.. seems to run better but a little ruff on idle.. i still need to turn my tpos up the right way and sort that out so that should solve the idle problem.. im getting a Defi boost gauge tomorow and looking for a good electric boost controller and thinking about doing the cv joints as i get ticking and rattles around 100kph

still seems to be a problem.. car dosent want to start with the e101 fitted it will with pumping the throttle but runs like poo till its warmed up.. seems to drive fine but starting is the main issue....

Check your error codes........if I remember your idle speed controller had a wire hanging out of it............this will make cold start very difficult.

yea might have sumthing to do with it lol.. might see if i can find sumthing to test error codes with later..

Just gonna run without the e101 then?

You will probably need to change the ignition timing if swapping between a bosch ignition module and an E101. You will need a timing light to see where you are at.

if the car is warm it will start with the 101 fitted but only just and pufs smoke when it does but with the bosch it starts fine hot or cold.. im thinking the e101 needs the isc fitted for it to work proply..? im going to put a wolf 3d in the thing soon if it keeps playing games.. :x

i am kinda thinking about swaping for sumthing else.. i have a guy intrested who has a 93 toyota chaser thats got a defect.. not sure what i will doo as i love my cordia but just kinda over it this week lol

Post subject:  Re: AB Cordia Turbo

It won't make any difference whether the isc is fitted. I have fitted a bosch module to my car and the timing is definitely different. More info here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13849&p=134216&hilit=bosch+ignition+module#p134216

If the ISC is inop then you will have trouble..........does the ISC open the throttle when cold?

Author:  coop1er [ 22 Nov 2013, 20:35 ]
Post subject:  Re: AB Cordia Turbo

From what I read, it isn't fitted or connected.

Post subject:  Re: AB Cordia Turbo

Then this is the main problem..........if the throttle is not applied during cold start then the engine will continually stall, or idle at 200 rpm due to the extra fuel cannot accept the reduced air speed with the throttle plate partially closed........with the throttle open, the engine will start then reduce to normal idle speed once warm.

So it starts fine with the bosch hot or cold.

With the E101 it will only start when warm and then runs poorly

And you think its the ISC?

Logically it is either the E101, the wiring to the E101 or the timing at fault, how can you argue otherwise.

Post subject:  Re: AB Cordia Turbo

Yep........because the bosch system won't look at the knock sensor.........the E101 does, as its part of the ignition system therefore reducing basic static timing.

Post subject:  Re: AB Cordia Turbo

yea isc is compleatly disconected.. when the bosh is fitted and i start it cold i have to just tap the throttle and it fires up and idles at around 700rpm cold, 900rpm once warm.. i did change the knock sensor with one from a wreck as mine had the wire riped out.. is it possable this is faulty..?

Post subject:  Re: AB Cordia Turbo

didnt end up swaping the cordia decided im going to keep it take it off the road and spend some money on it in the next few weeks.. going to do the cv joints and clutch plate slave and master cyl.. remove the air con crap infront of radiator as the rest is allready gone and re paint the trim in the boot and try and come up with sum kinda plan for the dash..?? :| once this is done i will tidy up the engine bay fair bit more too.. will share sum pics when i get started :)
