You don't stuff around Andrew! Looking good. Are you going to paint it the same colour???
Also, this is probably a dumb question, but that internal piece behind the firewall that you cleaned and primed... can it be removed easily??

Yes it will be the same colour.......that's the main reason I bought it, just to have 2 blue cordia's.

To clean behind the firewall remove the wipers & the window mouldings........then using a phillips screwdriver remove the plates and firewall rubber..........clean away.

Started doing the doors today.......here is the replacement drivers door stripped and primed (with a few dents removed) nearly ready for topcoat.

This wing looks great:

Until you turn it over.........

Have removed ALL of the rust from the wing........will need to "inject" it with urethane to make it solid again.

What did you use to pull the wing off without butchering it?

Is the car going to be bare metal resprayed?

Console looks awesome BTW

Post subject:  Re: My project AC GSR

Technically I could bare metal the car seamings as it only has one coat of paint, most of the panels are in good condition, so a quick rub back and spray will still turn out well.

Big challenge today.........the drivers side rear quarter was totally eaten out with rust.......so I cut a section out and replaced it with some 1.5mm plate.

Can anyone see what's missing?

Image

Just need to treat the inside of the panel as some rust is still visible..........then I'll spray it in some stoneguard.

Console looks phenomenal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post subject:  Re: My project AC GSR

Thanks, It was quite easy to fix the holes and cracks...........simply run a blade over the edges to make a "V", rub with 40 grit paper then add some bog.
Rub that back then mask the areas and spray with a light coat of stoneguard.......after it's dry rub with 600 grade and apply colour.........vola a near perfect match.

The flat panel should be OK.........no water can gather there anymore..........I have the horn pad, it's on the passenger side floor.
