Well the 40 degree Adelaide heat has taken some panels.......the carport is not totally shaded......put another 4 coats of clear on the bonnet this afternoon........just checked again and the paint has literally blistered!

The nose cone and passenger side guard also a blistering.........so much for a new paint job!!!!

Yep, the paint is only a few days old........hasn't really had a chance to cool and harden.......I have put up some shade now and have sprayed the panels with water....they were that hot I couldn't touch them.........see how it goes.......44 degrees here in Adelaide tomorrow......paint may still do the same. :(

could also be because of too many coats of clear, after exposure to sun, it may delaminate, blister or even go dull, if not it could also be because of the reducer. is it the right amount and right type.

I have sprayed the acrylic clear using R102 thinners..........because it's hot I also increased the amount thinners to paint ratio to allow for a increased "flash off" time allowing a wet coat to be added, without the paint going on the panels "dry".

Looks OK this morning but acrylic paint needs to cool, not sit in hot weather where it can't cure properly.

Thanks for the heads up though.

On another note I received my decals today from Ebay (Bodymould), they are not what I expected........the turbo sticker is fine, but the side stickers that fade from red to silver are actually a flat colour without the "Dots".
Will chat with the dealer to see if he can reproduce properly.

Heard it's going to be close to 40deg for about a week out your way. Perth is copping it too apparently and tasmania recorded it's hottest day in 125 years today. Not the best for painting.

It's looking great though. You are going to turn heads once your finished. A showroom fresh gem mint cordia, 1 of 1. People will spin out.

Not too mention the original badges....:)

Gave the rear valance a polish aswell......came up OK.

After a few coats of Meguiars high gloss tyre gel this is how the spoiler looks:

Have also installed the repaired rear wiper hatch cover.

Next is to polish the rest of the rear end and attach the bumper.......then its on to the rest of the car. :)
