Big thanks to Grant for dropping off the AC this morning, here is its new home.

Got stuck into it straight away........had to replace the nose cone due to rust issues and a broken bolt, the lower apron was removed and straightened with all the front end parts now lining up nicely.

Here's some pics:

Big day on the car, firstly I stripped the whole back end:

Fixed all of the dents on the drivers side:

Removed the rear bumper only to find the rear stone tray damaged, had a small hit in the back:

But after a few hours on the anvil it fits well.........just need a little "bog"

Next was the "crease" in the drivers side guard........right on the style line........nothing a small block of wood and hammer could'nt fix:

Still heaps more to go!

Well found more cancer.........from a little bubble (where the bog is, just to stop water entry) too the whole passenger side vent rusted out when I tapped the panel, sounded like stones falling due to the window coming away,.............But I will persist!

Have spent DAYS re-aligning the whole front end, now the headlights, parklights and grille all have even spacing. Plus I've fixed the headlight bezels, grille and lower apron and given a splash of colour, just need to do the black outs and clearcoat.

Here's some pics:

Great work as usual, just adding a bit of colour makes a big difference and the head light surrounds look great....starting to get a collection of beer cans it must be thirsty work ;)

Post subject:  Re: My project AC GSR

Thanks Grant.........the headlight bezels were "badly" sunburnt but have come up excellent for such brittle parts.........and yes Terrence I will be looking for some original rims.............the only vehicle that I can get them off of now is a magna.

Repaired the original front lip.........the sides were "chipped" but now returned to stock.............bit of flexiprime and satin black have turned them back too this.............the pinstriping can also be seen in the photo.

Image

Just need to repair the whole front section..........a few parts were missing/broken. :)

Post subject:  Re: My project AC GSR

Terrence,
The brand is K&N, it's the exact colour.......it's vinyl and plastic paint (charcoal), about $15 a can, so get "cracking" on your interior :)
