After helping Grant today (Clueless) I spent some time on the passenger side rear quarter........something had hit the wheel arch then skated up towards the hatch, whatever it was bent the wheel arch.

After some careful hammering (after removing the wheel) I got the panel nearly straight.......just added some bog to ensure consistency......just need to put the style lines back.........but here is how it looks:

Went to U-pull-it today to find some AC rims, their prices are through the roof!..........found two on a Hyundai excel..............still need two more.........

Image

Image

They are in average condition..........most of the clear coat is missing and the alloy is starting to degrade..........with a quick rub of 1200 paper this is how one is looking......

Image

Once done I will re-clearcoat to ensure protection.

Koray,
Not too sure what they weigh........need to get one off and try it.

As for polishing, yes I have done this myself...........trick is to find the natural grain of the alloy............around, around, around........here is how the drivers side is looking now after a few more hours work............still need a few more to get it perfect.

I'm using 1200 grit sand paper in the "grain" of the alloy to remove the clearcoat........once done I use a little autosol metal polish to finish off..........once completely done I will clearcoat.
