OK, this is sounding electrical............have you checked the fuse box?

Have a look at the "back" fuse (number 10) to ensure it's not blown.

3 more things to check:

Is the switch selector working?

Is your speedo working?

Is the selector relay working? (Can be located behind the drivers kickpanel)

I thought so.........how are you expected to fix an overdrive problem if you don't drive the car?

The selector won't engage 5th gear as the reed switch (vehicle Sensor) in the rear of the speedo isnt closed "telling" the relay the car is in motion.

Just do me a favour..............take your car for a drive to see if it's working after all of this effort.

man use the edit button instead of flooding the thread :P

it was a touch of a joke, it is obviously to do with 5th gear and if running straight vac to the actuator dosnt fix it and no fuses are blown then its any ones guess

Make sure vac lines are correct
Make sure every plug is plugged in
Replace Vac lines
Replace One way valve
Replace solenoid
Replace Switch
Replace In dash thingy
