Pedro, if you 'read' the post, you would notice that it is a temporary bypass for priming the engine. (newly built engine and he obviously wants to make sure its lubricated on first turnover straight away)!

Seriously sick of your negative posts everywhere.....

Hey all, it's been a while......

6th of November I get a week off work and this time will be well spent on the old girl.

I plan to get quite a bit of work done so expect daily updates.

Took the new bike to calder park on the weekend, had a good time.... ran 11.6 @ 124MPH with a lazy 2.3s 60ft.

Worst part is, After taking heaps of photos of the build over the last week, I lost everything after formatting the micro sd for the gopro I took to carder (forgot to backup). luckily I had some pictures on the SLR also!

Tig'd larger breathers to the valve cover on my buildpro table, makes things like this a walk in the park.

Image

Dodgy panel beaters make me sick..... I had to replace this section since It was a clusterfuck of unfused welds and rust that chipped off with a light tap, lol.
Image

Got me some Buddyclub P1's
Image

Cleaned the HVAC unit and replaced the 30y/o foam
Image

Image

Image

Sprayed the valve cover in charcoal grey using 2pack
Image

Subframes, caster rods, shift linkages and booster have all been bare metal sprayed. Sandblasting saved me from days of sanding, unfortunately all pics lost.
Parts were sprayed in solid black using automotive paint for durability.

T, I appreciate the offer, Ill contact you if I need help. Been ok for the time being, just having a hard time finding things that have been in storage for 6 years.

Sure is, only problem is it needs a 10mm spacer since the push rod hits the brake pedal before the u joint is aligned.

looks clean Koray..........is it me or are the cams rotated in the pic, can't see the dowels, even though the timing marks are aligned.

Different cam pulley's?

Thanks mate.

There are marks on both sides of the cam gears and the engine is not at TDC.

On the left we have an Evo 8 booster and on the right is the old evo 2

It was a lot of work to make this fit, I do not recommend fitting these in cordias. Just take a look at the throttle and speedo cables

Could not get superpro bushes for the cordia since they are on back order, so I made my own.

Nice work, but how come the EVO 8 master cylinder fluid bottle has a barb on it?

Is this to run a remote reservoir?

The barb feeds the evo8 clutch master

Drivers side suspension installed, unsure whether I'll fit my current brakes or not. I'm tempted to get new rims, pump the guards and fit evo 8 brembos.
Image

Profiled the Gvr4 intermediate shaft hanger to fit the cordia today. Easy work using the mill. No bashing of the sump thus far, we will have to see about the tri joint though.

This was the "Painfull" part..........take too much material off and the shaft will bind in the box, nice to see you have machined yours, I did mine totally by hand "just to make sure".

Great job as always Koray.

EVO 8 Brembos will be a headache, just like the 3000GT calipers, the discs are 32mm thick where ours are 24mm........trying to offset the caliper and keep the wheel track somewhere near standard is difficult.

This is why I removed them.

I'm not too fussed about the wheel track, more concerned about offsetting the scrub radius.

Flared guards with wide rims is something i am considering though.

Thanks Andrew for all the chat over PM, I appreciate the immediate replies, it is preventing delays in by build.

Coilover tophats now complete and installed

So it seems I was wasting some of my time machining the areas to clear the sump since the tri joint did not clear anyway. Here is the massaged sump.
Image

This bulge was just touching the rubber boot by a bee's dick amount
Image

Bolted an old front case to a spare sump, bulge turns out to be the casting off the oil pump (the pickup flange to be exact). lucky I took my time and was gentle with the dead blow.
Image
Image

Obviously I could not get the sump any further in, so with new boots, grease and outer cv, I clamped the tie down nice and tight.....aaaaaand, she fits with enough clearance! It turns out the boot was too far over the cup and not tied down properly
Image

Image
Image

To finish her off, TC12601 seals, these allow 50mm cv's into vr4 hubs
Image
Image

Today was a good day!

Looks great Koray, yet another cordia with equal length drive!!!

Can you try the wheel rotation test for me, and post or PM me the outcome?

Pm sent, when we iron out all the possible issues we should write a guide together for everyone else to use. We both have excellent info on the topic.
