Hey Guys,

Had a trip down to melbourne on the weekend to collect an AA Cordia GSR from the friendly spare collector, Pete.

The engine will be removed, and transplanted into my AC over the coming weeks.

That said its not the end of the road for the AA either. It will be receiving the 4G62T thats currently in my AC. And will be given a bit of a tidy up with AC mirrors, stock GSR Spoiler, AC GSR Rims and most likely AC GSR Seats. However the AC has priority so it will most likely remain on the backburner for some time.

Was an easy drive back from melbourne to albury. Havent had a chance to boost it yet as the motor starts to jerk heaps when the turbo starts to spool up. Havent troubleshooted it yet, but im thinking anything from plugs and leads to a dodgy vacuum line.

This first pics just some shameless advertising on GSR-18L for Pete.

The 4G93T will be a nice upgrade from stock but expect to spent a bucket load if you want it to complete with a mildly modified 4G63T. Goodluck with it nonetheless. :)

Thanks for the support guys.

Slowly progressing with things, have got power windows and a 6-cd in dash stacker on the way.
The latter will end up in the lower console near the gear shifter.

Have been chucking everything back on the old motor for the time being just to get it running again. Just gotta put in the computer,
redo the vacuum lines and pick up some spark plug leads. Hopefully all going well i'll be able to give it a kick in the guts on monday night.

Got new gaskets for the exhaust manifold to turbo, and remade another for the throttle body. These being the main reason i confined it
to the shed in the first place.

Heading up to my folks place on Sunday, so will have a bit of time to tinker with the 4g93t and troubleshoot the boost issue.
My brother has done the plugs already, and he is picking up a new air filter as it was in desperate need of replacing.

Hey Pete,

Will definitely let you know. Considering just running it stock for now, i know i wont be happy after a couple of months when the power bug bites
again. Will definitely be doing some mild mods down the track, bigger injectors, port & polish, bigger turbo, forged rods and internals, LSD, equal length shafts
etc. But not chasing big numbers from the motor, just responsiveness.

Will be doing little things like water pump, timing belt, belts, filters, etc as part of the transplant. Clutch definitely needs replacing, looking at Exedey
unless anyone has some other suggestions. Also trying to hunt down some twin pots for the fronts.

The car will literally be my occasional weekend toy, to keep the k's low, with a mind to getting involved in some motorkhana/track events.

Heres to hoping everything goes smoothly and it makes a showing at the next Melbourne/Vic run. Hanging to cruise with some other cordias.

And for those who are wondering why invest in the 4G93T. The GSR 18L numberplates are still relevant. (Unless i stroke it)

The 4G93 is a good motor. If you don't wont to spend a lot on it the Vr4 and Evo turbos bolt on with little effort and you can swap throttle body, airflow meter, ecu, and injectors over to the evo items. They are a straight swap. I did this with my gsr a couple of years ago as it is real common mod in NZ. Try looking on MMC.org.nz or Trademe.co.nz. You can purchase all these items really cheap for really good power gains.

Hey all,

GSR-18L is starting again. Still gotta tidy a few things, set the TPS and get the timing right, but at least i can now drive it in and out of the garage
and not have to push the bloody thing.

Haven't really done anything on the grey beast. But had a bit of a look at it when i was up in Canberra last. They've
even wired in the ABS computer from the donor car, im assuming this is just to stop error codes from the ecu. All i can say is im gonna
be taking a hell of a lot of photos when it comes time to do the engine swap.

Will be nice to be able to drive GSR-18L again for the time being, pretty keen for a bit of boost.

Hey everyone,

Things havent really progressed much so far. Had a stuff around on ebay with the stacker that i purchased, soon to be a fraud matter with the police. However managed to score another stacker from another seller which rocked up today. Waiting on the loom from the states so i can wire it in.

Have decided on the upgrade from the standard brakes. Going to be fitting 3000GT/GTO 4 Pots. I understand Grumbly completed this conversion and had some issues with rims not clearing the calipers. Picked the calipers up for an absolute steal, that said im aware that the custom fitting of these is where its going to cost me.

Will be getting the cordia running smoothly though over the next few weeks as its due for rego at the start of October.

How much did you pay for the calipers if you don't mind me asking?

Hey mate,

Picked them up for $150 with lower control arms and hubs still attached for GTO,
probably chuck those back on ebay as i only want the calipers.

Cost me another $120 to freight them over from Adelaide.
